World Nuclear Fuel Cycle

Call for proposals

The Nuclear Energy Institute and World Nuclear Association seek proposals from speakers to join the programme for World Nuclear Fuel Cycle 2026 conference, taking place on 14-16 April 2026 in Monaco.

The objective of the World Nuclear Fuel Cycle 2026 is to provide an international forum for the discussion of issues affecting the commercial nuclear fuel cycle, with a focus on supply and demand dynamics of the nuclear fuel supply chain and the values that nuclear energy brings to meet targets to tackle climate change issues, energy security and socio-economic development. The global outlook for nuclear power has never been brighter with broad environmental, political, and public opinion support.  At the same time, global geopolitical issues have added to the challenges in ensuring that investment and supply can be made available for the front-end of the nuclear fuel cycle, where uranium, conversion and enrichment capacity expansions are needed to supply the projected industry growth.  How will the major market players respond to the present challenges and seize new opportunities? What are the customers’ expectations? Share your expertise!

You are invited to submit one-page abstracts for presentations addressing policy, trade, market, and commercial issues affecting supply and demand for the commercial front and backend of the fuel cycle or reactor demand projections.

Suggested topics include:

  • The global picture for nuclear energy, including license renewals, new builds, and emerging markets
  • Electricity markets, the energy crisis, geopolitics, security of supply, energy independence
  • Fuel supply and reactor economics
  • Fuel procurement strategies
  • Uranium market dynamics
  • Uranium supply side outlook - new projects, resources, production cuts
  • Future enrichment picture - outlook for facilities, HALEU, LEU+
  • International trade issues
  • Security of supply
  • Fuel inventories and possible future dynamics
  • Fuel fabrication innovation and technology development
  • Back end of the fuel cycle: secondary supply, reprocessing, MOX
  • Spent fuel disposal issues, including on-site storage
  • Integrated fuel cycle approaches for advanced fuels and HALEU
  • Nuclear materials transportation – including transportation packages
